Sears in Joplin to Close

Sears in Joplin is officially closing up shop but lots of good deals can still be found in the store, with even more drastic mark downs in the coming weeks.

But lost I among the deals are the people and the history of the store. It’s hard to believe the once big time store chain had more than 2,200 stores nationwide that’s now dwindled to just 182. And Sears has been in Joplin since 1928.

Long time employee Derrick Ruddick is even trying to make some memories by getting past and current employees to sign a bench from the break room.

Life will go on for these people as a new chapter starts, but remember them as you save on your last minute clearance items.
