Firefighters quickly contain blaze at senior apartment complex
Fire broke out at a senior citizen complex at 414 N. Washington in Webb City late Saturday morning. Firefighters were quickly able to contain the blaze.
“The scene of the fire was in the kitchen and we put that out,” says Webb City Fire Captain Scott Pink. “We started pulling ceilings to see if it extended through the attic, which it did not. We were able to contain it to the one unit itself.”
He says there were no injuries. He says there may have been some smoke damage but it appeared to be very limited to the attic area.
He says some residents may be temporarily displaced because the utilities being off until the official cause is determined and checks are made to ensure the safety of all residents.
