Celebrate the season by helping Watered Gardens
You have the opportunity to celebrate the season and help people in need Saturday until 2 p.m.
You’re asked to bring a can of food to help those in need in the Joplin area.
For a $5 donation you or your child will get the chance to slide through the holiday tree bagger at the Joplin Greenhouse and Coffee Shop located at 2820 E. 32nd Street in Joplin (next door to Food 4 Less).
The food and funds will go to Watered Gardens Mission Market.
“Watered Gardens exists . . . to help those struggling with homelessness and poverty in our community,” says Travis Hurley, Director of Advancement at Watered Gardens.
He says a recent report showed that Watered Gardens served 90 households with almost 5,700 lbs. of food.
Hurley says the funds raised will help Watered Gardens Mission purchase a commercial freezer to help store food safely.
Also, today, Joplin Greenhouse and Coffee Shop will give away a poinsettia with every cup of coffee sold till the supply runs out.
