Massive Industrial Fire In Northwest Arkansas

A massive industrial fire is still blazing at United Industries following an explosion at the plastics factory in Bentonville just before noon Wednesday.

No word on injuries or deaths.

An Emergency Alert was sent out due to potentially harmful, toxic fumes coming from the smoke, followed by a Shelter In-Place Warning for Benton County in northwest Arkansas.

Kids in nearby schools were not evacuated, but were held inside for recess. Health officials recommended that anyone with respiratory issues say inside, as well.

A large power outage has affected four schools.

Northwest Medical is expecting to see more patients in their emergency room today.
