Celebrate “Christmas Through the Decades” At Joplin’s Christmas Parade
Bundle up and bring your Christmas spirit for tonight’s 49th annual Joplin Christmas Parade, sponsored by Freeman Health System!
The parade kicks off at 6 p.m on Main at 15th and heads north to 3rd Street, and you’ll enjoy more than 80 floats, school bands, a procession of emergency vehicles, as well as your favorite Zimmer Radio personalities!
State Senator Bill White will serve as this year’s Grand Marshal.
And no parade would be complete without Santa Claus, who will make an appearance, too!
If you’re hungry, stop by one of the four food trucks set-up at 6th and Main.
The theme of this year’s parade is “Christmas Through the Decades.” Whether it’s a silver tree illuminated by a color wheel or floats playing carols from the 1950s, entrants will help us relive the holidays of yesteryear. Floats will pass by a judges’ stage at 8th and Main streets to show off their cheer. This year’s judges are:
Mayor Gary Shaw
Dr. John Cox and Vickie Cox
Steve and Diana Graddy
Toby Teeter, Joplin Area Chamber of Commerce President.
Funds generated by the 2019 Joplin Christmas Parade will go to your local Children’s Miracle Network Hospital, which provides assistance to children from birth to 21 years of age in a 14-county area in Missouri, Kansas and Oklahoma.
