Rep. Lane Roberts will seek re-election

It’s official: Missouri State Rep. Lane Roberts announced today he will seek re-election to his District 161 house seat.

He made the announcement at a morning news conference at the Elks Building at 320 W. 4th Street in Joplin

Roberts said outside of sitting a vote out, legislators have to be decision-makers.

“There’s only two buttons on the board to push, a yes button and no button. There’s no maybe button. There’s no partial agreement or partial disagreement button. Just yes or no. And the results of our decisions impact all Missourians.”

Roberts is a former Joplin Police Chief. He’s serving his first term in the legislature.

The election is in fall 2020.
