Search For Bolivar Man Ends In Tragedy

The search for a missing man from Polk County has ended in tragedy. 39-year-old John Hacker’s body was found in the Pomme de Terre Lake Tuesday night. Foul play is not suspected.

An Endangered Person Advisory was issued for Hacker on Friday night when he was last seen leaving a home on Pomme de Terre Lake on foot and was not wearing his coat. Hacker had a brain injury and suffered from depression. He was heavily medicated, and possibly hallucinating at the time. Police say he did not bring his medication with him when he left.
