Joplin man charged after threatening to kill grandfather

A man from Joplin faces an unlawful use of a weapon charge after he allegedly said he was going to kill his grandfather. Read the full press release below:

On Sunday, Jasper County deputies were dispatched to the area of Black Cat Rd and Fountain Rd in reference to a disturbance.

Deputies were told that a male subject, later identified as Richard R. Clemmons III, 28, of Joplin, had made statements to kill his grandfather.

When deputies arrived in the area, they located Clemmons walking in the roadway carrying a loaded 12 gauge shotgun.

After the initial investigation, Clemmons was arrested and transported to the Jasper County Detention Center where he was charged with unlawful use of a weapon on a $100,000 cash bond.
