Missouri Senate committee to discuss crime, guns
A Missouri Senate committee studying violence involving guns is expected to hear several hours of testimony Monday in Jefferson City. State Senator Jamilah Nasheed of St. Louis says violence involving guns is a public health crisis.
“We have children dying on the street by way of AK-47s and AR-15s. Yes, this is a massive, massive crisis,” Nasheed stated.
“I am just happy the Senators are willing to roll up their sleeves so we can reduce the violence that is plaguing inner cities,” she added.
Nasheed spoke to Missourinet’s Brian Hauswirth. A lengthy hearing is expected Monday in the State Capitol.
