Murder-suicide in Miami; a child dead

A murder-suicide in Miami. The victim- the 11 year old daughter of the shooter. Police say 39-year-old David Billings made his way inside 38-year-old James Miller’s house in the 200 block of I Street NW in Miami around 8:30 Tuesday night. Miller called 911 and reported Billings was in his house shooting people.

When Miami Police arrived, they found 38-year-old Melissa Wallace on the front lawn; she had been shot three times. Wallace fled in an attempt to get help. Officers found Billings dead inside the house from a self-inflicted gunshot wound. Billings’ daughter, Kayla Billings, had been fatally shot. James Miller was also shot. He and Wallace were life-flighted to a Tulsa hospital were they are in stable condition.

Billings is the ex-husband of Melissa Wallace. The pair have been having on-going domestic disputes.

Authorities confirm the pair were arguing earlier in the day before the deadly shooting.

Kayla is the daughter of Billings and Wallace. Wallace was also pregnant, according to the OSBI.

Kayla was a student at Nichols Upper Elementary within the Miami School District.
