One Carthage teen killed, another seriously injured in Friday night wreck
A 16-year-old driver from Carthage is dead, his 15-year-old passenger, also from Carthage, seriously injured following a wreck on Harmony Road, two miles east of that city around 7:25 p.m. Friday evening.
According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, the 2003 Ford F-150 pickup driven by Archer Lambeth of Carthage traveled off the right side of the road, returned to the pavement, skidded off the left side of the road, struck a tree and caught fire.
Lambeth was pronounced dead by Jasper County Coroner Keith Lancaster. The occupant was transported to Mercy Carthage.
Officials at Carthage High School told Newstalk KZRG that counselors will be made available to students, faculty and staff as of Monday morning.
