Deadly Thursday On Southwest Missouri Roads
A truck driver from Saint Paul, Minnesota was killed in Carthage Thursday evening around 7 o’clock. Troopers say 35-year-old Abdi Mohamed was eastbound on Jack Pine when he ran off the road, crashed through a fence, then the ditch and overturned before smashing into a tree. Mohamed was pronounced dead at the scene.
A pedestrian was hit and killed along Highway 59 near Goodman just before 10:30 p.m Thursday night. The Highway Patrol says 18-year-old Sydni Pogue of Goodman was in the southbound lane passing another car when she hit 26 year-old Pierre McWhirter, who was walking in the northbound lane. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
A woman from Neosho was killed in an accident south of Redings Mill Thursday. The Missouri State Highway Patrol says it happened around 3 PM on Route C, when 18-year-old Morgan Davis of Seneca failed to yield and collided with 58-year-old Chris Tripp of Neosho. Their vehicle overturned and ejected his passenger, 56-year-old Jane Tripp, who was pronounced dead at the hospital.
