Teen Knocks Over Liquor Store To Steal Lottery Tickets
A teenager has been arrested for knocking over a liquor store in Joplin, but he wasn’t stealing booze.
18-year-old Westley Shaner cut himself pretty badly while breaking in through the drive thru window at Z’s Drive Thru Liquor Store at 16th and Main late Monday night. He allegedly stole a bunch of lottery tickets before zooming away on a stolen scooter.
Shaner then showed up at Freeman for treatment and admitted to Joplin Police that he hurt himself while committing a burglary.
Video surveillance from the burglary matched Shaner’s tattoos, clothing, and scooter.
Shaner tried to sneak out of the hospital, but was arrested for 2nd degree burglary, and vehicle tampering.
