Mother-Son Murder Duo To Be Sentenced
The mother-son duo from southeast Kansas convicted of murdering a homeless man from Tulsa will soon be sentenced.
23-year-old Ty Bohlander was sentenced today to 5 years in prison for his role in the murder of 64-year-old James McFarland in April 2017. 57-year-old Diana Bohlander was in a relationship with McFarland when he was killed and dumped along the road in Cherokee County.
The mother and son, who were homeless and living in their van at the time, went on the run. Ty was captured in Santa Monica, California in March. Diana later turned herself in to police.
Ty, and his mother Diana Bohlander were able to plea down to voluntary manslaughter. They were facing first degree murder charges.
Diana will be sentenced at a later date. Her lawyer called in sick Tuesday morning.
