Charges Dropped In Stolen Credit Cards Case
A man from Joplin won’t be facing jail time for allegedly stealing the personal information of numerous people because a Newton County judge dropped the charges.
Judge Selby took issue with the way Joplin Police collected the evidence against 28-year-old Kaden Steele during a traffic stop last summer on Highway 43.
According to court documents, Steele was a passenger in the car that police searched. His wallet was left sitting in the car, so officers looked inside of it discovering stolen credit cards, as well as bank information for a total of six people.
