Jackknifed Semi Caused Major Delays On I-44
Moderate injuries reported for the driver of an SUV that slammed into a tractor trailer on eastbound I-44 Friday morning, causing the semi to jackknife and overturn near Sarcoxie, according to the Missouri State Highway Patrol.
The collision caused major headaches during rush hour when the interstate shutdown for emergency crews to respond around 6:15 a.m. Traffic was detoured off I-44 at Exit 26.
The SUV driver, 28-year-old Jimi Filzetti of Joplin was transported to a Joplin hospital with moderate injuries.
The truck driver, 61-year-old Eric Ali of St. Louis was not injured.
