Cell Phone Companies To Offer Robocall Blocking
50 billion spoof, scam and automated calls were made in the US last year, now your phone carrier is going to help put a stop to it as part of an agreement reached with 51 state attorneys general.
Cell phone giants like AT&T, Sprint, Verizon, T-Mobile, and US Cellular will soon provide the free tools you need to block those annoying scammers. Those companies will block some of the robocalls at the network level, as well as make it harder for callers to use fake numbers.
There’s not yet a timeline for when these call-blockers will be available, and it’s still unclear if this agreement is legally binding.
