Elderberries focus of next Twilight Horticulture Tour
The annual University of Missouri Extension “Horticulture Twilight Tour” in Lawrence County begins at 6:00 p.m., Tuesday, Aug. 20.
The 2019 tour will highlight elderberry production at Elder Farms, located at 15821 Lawrence 1125 in Mt. Vernon.
Elder Farms is a Lawrence County Century Farm specializing in elderberry and elderflower production including honey and premium wellness products.
“Elder Farms is committed to protecting the environment through sustainable farming practices,” said Kelly McGowan, horticulture specialist with University of Missouri Extension.

Those planning to attend should meet at the Elder Farms headquarters at 6 pm. Attendees will tour the farm, learn about elderberry and elderflower production, and learn about honey and wellness products derived from the berries and flowers.
