Barton County Toddler Nearly Drowns; In Critical Condition

A toddler from Barton County is fighting for her life after she was found not breathing and without a pulse in a swimming pool at a home near Jasper Monday night. The family called 911 and immediately began CPR until Barton County Deputy William Weiser arrived and took over CPR. The paramedics transported the 18 month old girl to Via Christi in Pittsburg. A short time later she was transported to Children’s Mercy in Kansas City in critical condition.

The Barton County Sheriff contacted the Missouri State Highway Patrol to investigate the incident, which has been ruled a tragic accident and no further criminal investigation is being sought.
