Vinita Prison Escapee Found Dead

An escaped inmate from northeast Oklahoma is dead.

52-year-old Ricky Bauders was on the run since Tuesday night when he escaped the minimum-security prison in Vinita while serving a four year sentence  for second-degree burglary.

He was found dead at 1:35 a.m Friday morning by Dept. of Corrections personnel on DOC property near the North East Oklahoma Correctional Center.

According to the Craig County Sheriff’s Office, the case is being investigated by state agencies, along with the Medical Examiner’s Office who will determine cause and manner of death.
