Horrific Crash Claims The Lives Of Three Children
A horrific accident on I-44 near Springfield has claimed the lives of three young children.
The Missouri State Highway Patrol tells News Talk KZRG a semi, driven by 60-year-old Erskine Pickwick of Winchester, Virginia, was sitting on the shoulder and merged back into traffic, pulling into the path of a van full of kids Thursday afternoon. The van crashed into the back of the truck, swerved off the road and went into the median, hitting the cable barrier.
That van was driven by 35-year-old Claudia Dobos of Clever. All eight of the Dobos children in the van were injured or killed.
8-year-old Olivia, 7-year-old Angelina, 6-year-old Julia were ejected and died at the scene.
12-year-old Genevieve sustained moderate injuries.
11-year-old Alexandria, 10-year-old Gabriel, 3-year-old Annabelle, and an infant, Daniel all sustained minor injuries.
Claudia Dobos also sustained minor injuries.
Everyone was wearing a seatbelt.
