City of Pittsburg seeks community input in Land Use Plan
The City of Pittsburg is working to create a Land Use Plan to guide future developments within the city limits and is asking residents to get involved.
On Wednesday, June 26, an online public survey closed after having received over 450 responses from residents. In addition to the survey, the City is hosting a Community Input Session and a separate Visioning Session to solicit further input from citizens.
Community members are encouraged to attend either of the upcoming events in the Community Conference Room at Block 22 (402 N. Broadway) next week:
* Visioning Session: Tuesday, July 16, from 8 a.m. – 11 a.m.
Participants will take part in small-group discussions and review sessions. These conversations will result in the formation of an initial vision and set of guiding principles for the plan.
Community Input Session: Wednesday, July 17, from 5 p.m. – 7 p.m.
This come-and-go event allows community members to see the vision created by their peers and make edits. During this interactive session, participants will make notes and talk to consultants about opinions to further solidify the needs of the community.
By participating in these events, community members ensure that Pittsburg’s Land Use Plan reflects the desires and needs of the community. Greater participation by the public renders a more accurate plan.
