Body found June 29th by floaters identified
The Grand River Dam Police Department is reporting that the body found in the Illinois River on June 29 was that of Chelsea Ophelia Escobedo (age 30, Summers, Arkansas).
According to GRDA, Escobedo’s body was discovered by a group of floaters, in an area of the river just west of the Highway 59 bridge, near Watts, Oklahoma.
The body was taken to the Oklahoma State Medical Examiner’s Office in Tulsa. The results of a toxicology report are still pending and the cause of death has yet to be determined.
The GRDA and the Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation (OSBI) are continuing the investigation. No other details are available at this time.
