Drug and Alcohol Addiction: Why Can’t You Just Quit?!

Addiction; a chronic, progressive condition, is not easy for those who are not addicted to fully grasp the all-consuming cycle of addiction. New Directions, which is part of Ozark Center, provides substance use and addiction services, treatment and support networks for the community. New Directions also provides a multitude of services for those struggling with addiction and co-occurring mental health disorders.
At 6:00 pm Thursday, June 27, at New Directions, 305 Virginia Ave. in Joplin, Nathan Honeycutt, LPC, and Craig Whaley, CPS, will present information on addiction, including defining addiction and the role of family during an individual’s recovery.
