Tyson Employees Get Sick

A handful of employees at Tyson’s Springdale plant got sick Tuesday morning after an industrial cleaning agent was spilled.

Captain Matt Bagley with the Springdale Fire Department said the small spill was contained by the time firefighters arrived and no chemicals were released into the atmosphere or groundwater. Tyson did not immediately say what the cleaning agent was.

Those five employees were checked at the hospital and are expected to be okay.

About 1,200 people work at the northwest Arkansas poultry plant.
