MSSU one of three universities targeted by cyber attackers

According to the online website “Bleeping Computer,” Missouri Southern State University is one of three universities in the U.S. to disclose significant data breaches of employee e-mail accounts.

The website says the breach at MSSU began in January and continued through early May.

MSSU reportedly has hired a leading forensic investigation firm to look into the incident.

The other two schools to undergo cyber attacks are reported to be Graceland University and Oregon State. No criminal activity as a result of the breaches is known to have occurred.
