Early morning standoff in Lamar results in arrest
Settling problems with a gun ….. rarely a good idea.
45-year-old Jory Pennell had a domestic problem over property at 1705 Cherry St. in Lamar Sunday morning and shots were fired.
After a brief standoff at a residence just outside of the city at 26 NE 1st Road where he surrendered and was taken into custody.
A total of eight felony charges were filed. Those include: unlawful possession of a firearm; 1st degree burglary; felony receiving of stolen property, felony domestic assault, three counts of felony assault in the 2nd degree and armed criminal action.
Police also reportedly solved a stolen handgun case from last year.
Pennell is being held on $250,000 bond at the Barton County Jail.
