Joplin Memorial Run May 17-18

The Joplin Memorial Run is slated for May 17th and 18th.

Friday, May 17th will include the Walk of Silence to honor the 161 people who died in the 2011 Joplin tornado. This year’s run will benefit the Joplin Humane Society.

Spokesman Bob Brown says over the years the run has benefited a number of worthy causes.

“We’ve built houses before, we’ve helped with some mental issues in the past, we assisted with the Stain Glass Theater.”

“The runners’ money goes to Joplin,” Brown asserts.

Events include a half marathon; 4-person half marathon relay; 10K; 5K; Kids’ Run; Walk of Silence; and virtual run.
