Insanely Busy Weekend for Joplin Police

It was a busy, busy weekend for Joplin Police. Officers were involved in four car chases and all four people that fled were arrested.

In addition to the guy that fled from police and fell through a ceiling, and the guy that was suspected of drunk driving, but was actually driving with a revoked license, a couple of women also kept officers busy.

Before 9:30 Friday night, a detective saw a woman driving as if she were under the influence at C and Main. When he tried to pull her over, 24-year-old Samantha McCrary of Joplin fled before stopping at F and Byers. She and the passenger jumped out and ran. McCrary was arrested for DWI, driving while revoked and resisting arrest. The passenger was arrested on misdemeanor charges.

Then late Sunday night a Joplin Officer turned on his lights, telling the driver to pull over at 10th and Murphy, but 48-year-old Dawn Robinson sped away before stopping in the 1500 block of Connor. Robinson was hauled to jail for DWI, driving while suspended and felony resisting arrest.
