Governor Parson is sending out personal letters to service members in the in the process of leaving the military in hopes they’ll stay in Missouri.
About 7,000 veterans with connections to Missouri leave the military each year, but the majority don’t choose to live here.
Governor Parson, who’s also an Army veteran, sent the letters to service members at Fort Leonard Wood and Whiteman Air Force Base, as well as new veterans separated from the service outside Missouri encouraging them to connect with the state’s workforce services.
Parson’s goal is to “make Missouri the best state in the nation for veterans to live and work.”
