Vision Carthage dedicated to planting flowers, beautifying city
Do you have a green thumb?
A group in Carthage is dedicated to planting flowers to beautify that city. Abi Almandinger is the co-chair of “Vision Carthage – Carthage in Bloom.” She says what was originally envisioned as a modest effort has taken off in a big way.
“It kind of started out as focusing on downtown but has expanded to be more of the community,” Almandinger says.
“It was brought to us through the national program ‘America in Bloom.’ They’re a non-profit that helps communities beautify.”
The group has plans to plant flowers at the Jasper County Courthouse, the Carthage YMCA, the city’s library and the historic Boots Motel.
The group is looking for volunteers.
Almandinger says if you’d like to lend a hand, go to the Vision Carthage Facebook page or call her at 417-793-6589.
