Sheriff Danny Smith is sworn in

His career started as a 911 communications officer for the Crawford County Sheriff’s office. Since that time24 years ago he has been a patrol officer, Deputy Sheriff, Lieutenant and a Captain. Today Captain Danny Smith became the new Sheriff for the county that gave him his start all those years ago.

Sheriff Smith tells News Talk KZRG how working in almost every part of the Sheriff’s office makes him uniquely qualified to be the County’s Sheriff. “I think I’ve been pretty much a part of every part of it. So I think I build off those experiences when we have when we have situations I can revert back to where I came from and that’s a big thing not to forget where I came from. That will be my goal.”

As Sheriff Smith took his oath of office and then swore in his deputies you could see why he was the man to take over now that Sheriff Dan Peak has retired.
