More traffic delays in Joplin

More delays and detours as Illinois Avenue will be closed from 14^th Street to 15^th Street to through traffic for approximately another three weeks.

The work of the stormwater repairs and improvements along Illinois Avenue, as part City’s disaster recovery program, is being extended. The delays come after Missouri American Water determined that replacing the pipes would “best serve the city’s future”

Work is being completed by D&E Plumbing and is part of Stormwater Project 12 of the Community Development Block Grant Disaster Recovery program.

Businesses in the area will remain open and accessible during the closure and signs will be installed to identify detour routes to Connecticut Avenue to Murphy Boulevard.
