Missouri Senator Roy Blunt, Governor Parson and others took a tour of the new Joplin Veterans Clinic at 3015 Connecticut over the weekend.
The new clinic has ten consultation rooms for medical care and support.
Senator Blunt told Newstalk KZRG that clinics are the wave of the future.
“Clinics I think are going to become, I think particularly important,” Blunt said.
“Obviously, in Missouri and southwest Missouri we’ve got a big veterans’ population and these clinics expand the geographic footprint for veterans.”
Another clinic recently opened in Springfield.
The clinics provide a resource for primary care, radiology, behavioral care and other aspects of overall care important to veterans.
