Missouri Secretary of State Jay Ashcroft says his office is working hard to protect the interests of Missourians.
He says he’s dedicated to one effort he thinks is especially important.
“I’m always fighting for increased funding for libraries because I think one of the things government rule ought to do is create a level of opportunity for everyone so they can be the best they can be,” Ashcroft says.
“I think libraries do that tremendously for a very low cost.”
Ashcroft sponsored this year’s Library Advocacy Day in Jefferson City in February.
The annual event connects with library staffs and advocates with state legislators to emphasize the importance of libraries in Missouri.
