Gilbreth named new Principal at Joplin High School
Joplin High School will have a new Principal when students return this fall.
It was announced at the Joplin School Board meeting last night that Dr. Stephen “Steve” Gilbreth, currently assistant Superintendent of Learning Services, will become the new principal at Joplin High.
Dr. Gilbreth says it takes him back to what he loves best.
“I’m super excited about it,” he said. “I’ve really missed being a building Principal and the interaction with kids on a daily basis. I think its just exciting a a great opportunity.
Prior to becoming an Assistant Superintendent two years ago, Dr. Gilbreth served as the principal at Joplin South and, before that, Memorial High School.
Gilbreth replaces Joplin High School principal Shane Hopper who resigned in February to return to the St. Louis area.
His new position becomes effective in July.
