Comfort Dog Jackson Crosses Rainbow Bridge

One of Immanuel Lutheran’s beloved Comfort Dogs has crossed the rainbow bridge.

In a statement from Immanuel Lutheran, they say “It is with great sadness that we share the unexpected passing of our beloved Comfort Dog, Jackson. While playing and enjoying the warm sunshine with his brother Louie Saturday afternoon, Jackson died very quickly of an apparent heart attack.”

In the summer of 2011, Jackson began serving as the official Comfort Dog of Martin Luther School. Jackson visited classrooms and greeted hundreds of kids at MLS and around the four-states bringing joy in a time of sorrow. Jackson and Louie even brought comfort to shooting victims at Sandy Hook and Las Vegas.

Jackson was 8-years-old.
