Joplin man, one other, killed in weekend crash
A car wreck on Missouri Route 37, three miles south of Cassville at has taken the life of two southwest Missouri men, one of them a Joplin resident.
The Missouri State Highway patrol says the crash occurred when a Chevy Aveo driven by 59- year-old Johnny Berry of Exeter failed to yield to a pickup driven by 43-year old Lloyd Daniel of Aurora, Missouri. The cars then collided.
The wreck took place shortly after 8 a.m. on Saturday.
Berry was life-flighted to Cox Hospital in Springfield where he died. 57 year old Scott Menick of Joplin, a passenger in Berry’s car, also died.
The Highway Patrol says neither was wearing a safety belt.
Daniel was not injured.
