Man killed after being hit by train in Barton County

A man was killed when he was hit by a train Tuesday evening in southwest Missouri. The Barton County Sheriff’s Office got a call from the Kansas City Southern Railroad saying someone had been hit a half mile south of Burgess, near the state line, about five miles west of Liberal. The man was found along the tracks near P Highway. He has been identified but his name has not yet been released as that investigation continues.
