Jasper County to test voting equipment Monday, March 18
You cast your ballot for the candidate or issue of your choice but how do you know your vote is registered accurately?
Jasper County will test voting equipment at 10 a.m. on Monday, March 18, according to Jasper County Clerk Charlie Davis.
“We will have members of the Republican Party and the Democratic party there at the Courthouse in Carthage. We will actually run ballots through. We will do some counting,” Davis says.
“The whole purpose is to reassure the public that whenever they go in to vote that their vote absolutely does count, it is done in the accurate manner and it is 100 percent secure.”
The testing takes place in Room 103 of the Jasper County courthouse in Carthage. Davis says the testing, which is required by law, is open to the public.
