Two arrested in connection to stolen car, burglaries

Two people are in custody following several thefts around the area. Read the full press release below:

On 03/01/19, Ozark Drug Enforcement Team with the assistance of Jasper County, Duquesne PD, Newton County and Joplin PD were able to track down a wanted Fugitive who was wanted in connection with several Burglaries and thefts in McDonald County and the surrounding area.

The suspect, identified as 27-year-old Craig Vanlue, was a passenger in a stolen passenger car out of Rogers, Arkansas. ODET Detectives were able to track Vanlue down in Joplin just West of Flying J Truck stop on FF Highway. Officer’s located a handgun in the vehicle and several items of drug paraphernalia.

The female driver, Makayla Swinson, was also arrested in connection with the stolen vehicle.

Both suspects were transported to Jasper County Jail.
