Teacher Accused of Sex with a Student Surrenders

A Barry County teacher, accused of having sex with a student turned herself into the Barry County jail on Wednesday.

24-year-old Chelsie Leroy is accused of having sex with a 16-year-old boy on two occasions last September inside Southwest High School in Washburn.

The victim told investigators both of the encounters happened in the Little Theater Drama room after Leroy started texting the student.

She’s facing charges of statutory rape and sexual contact with a student and is being held in the Barry County Jail on a 40,000 bond.
