STL Cop Sentenced For Taking Bribes
A former St. Louis police officer has been sentenced to 10 months in federal prison for taking bribes to provide information to a chiropractor.
Cauncenet Brown apologized to officials, the city, her family and police when she was sentenced Wednesday. She said she had “tarnished the image” of officers. She is one of four former officers who have pleaded guilty to federal charges. The chiropractor, Mitchell E. Davis, and his wife, Galina Davis, also have pleaded guilty and admitted paying bribes for years to solicit patients.
Federal prosecutors say the officers took money in exchange for providing un-redacted accident reports to the Davises in violation of department policy. Brown told a judge that at the time, she didn’t know it was illegal.
