A Suspect, with Stolen Items from A Home Invasion Robbery, Has Been Arrested
Yesterday, an elderly Joplin woman was terrorized by two masked men who tied her up and burglarized her home. A few hours later, Joplin Police department, with the help of the Missouri State Highway Patrol and the Jasper County Sheriff’s Office apprehended a possible suspect.
A truck matching the suspect’s vehicle was seen on 7th street and continued until it pulled into a private driveway off of Interstate 49 and Cedar Road.
Several items from the home invasion and another burglary in Joplin were found in the red-dodge-pickup truck. Police arrested 24-year-old Jonathan Overman of Carthage for stealing. A second person in the truck was not charged and released at the scene.
Overman is in the Joplin City jail and charges are being submitted to the Jasper County Prosecutors office. Captain Trevor Duncan still tells News Talk KZRG that Joplin Police are still investigating the crimes and he still urges the public to help with any information about the case.
