Tip Leads To Drug Bust

Thanks to tips from the community, three people are behind bars following a drug bust in Columbus Tuesday afternoon, according to Cherokee County Sheriff David Groves. The search warrant was executed in 100 block of East Metzler Street by the Cherokee County Sheriff’s Office and Columbus PD, following a narcotics investigation over the past several weeks. Inside the home police confiscated meth, marijuana, and drug paraphernalia.
37 year-old Harley Schmohe and 63-year-old Shirley Morris of Columbus as well as 42-year-old Shelly Ledbetter of Springdale, Arkansas were arrested at the scene.
Schmohe and Ledbetter are both being held in the Cherokee County Jail on $5000 bond on allegations of Possessing Methamphetamine, Marijuana and Drug Paraphernalia.
Morris’ bond has been set at $2,000 on allegations of Possessing Marijuana and Drug Paraphernalia.
