Man Shot by Police in Potosi, MO After Pulling Out a Gun
A sheriff’s deputy has shot and wounded a man after he brandished a firearm in eastern Missouri.
Washington County Sheriff Zach Jacobson says the man is expected to survive. The man was shot Saturday night near Potosi after a woman asked a deputy to go with her because her 14-year-old stepchild was refusing to leave a friend’s home.
Deputies realized a man in the passenger seat of the woman’s car had a warrant out for his arrest and asked for his name. When he gave a fake one, deputies asked the man to get out of the car. He refused and was shot when he pulled out a gun and pointed it toward the back of the car. The deputies weren’t injured.
