Two arrested following Highway Patrol raid in Newton County
The Missouri State Highway Patrol’s Division of Drug and Crime Control conducted a raid on a residence south of Joplin on Thursday, Dec. 27.
The Patrol arrested 43-year-old Jayme Richards and 24-year-old Tieraney Anderson of Joplin.
The arrests resulted from a narcotics investigation conducted by members of the Division of Drug and Crime Control’s Narcotics/Vice Unit.
The Newton County Sheriff’s Office and the Ozark Drug Enforcement Team participated in the raid.
Investigators came from the Missouri State Highway Patrol’s Troop D Special Weapons and Tactics Team. They executed a search warrant at the residence located on Shoal Cliff Drive in Joplin.
They seized over 190 marijuana plants,10 firearms and several pounds of processed marijuana.
A family member took custody of the juvenile who lived at the residence.
Richardson and Anderson were charged with several felonies. Richardson was charged with manufacture of a controlled substance, unlawful use of a weapon, and endangering the welfare of a child involving drugs. His bond was set at $5,500.
Authorities charged Anderson with manufacture of a controlled substance. Her bond was set at $3,000.
