Teen With Cystic Fibrosis Dies Shortly After Star’s Visit
Grammy Award winner Jason Mraz serenaded her as she waited for a second double-lung transplant. Now, less than a week later, Madison Eileen Taliaferro has passed away in a St. Louis hospital.
Madison, who suffered from cystic fibrosis, died Saturday after spending more than two weeks at St. Louis Children’s Hospital. She was only 12 years old in November 2012 when she received a double-lung transplant. Unfortunately her body recently rejected those lungs.
Madison’s mother described her daughter as “beautiful” and “amazing” early this morning (Monday) as she delivered the news of her passing.
On Dec. 9, Mraz stopped by her bedside, while he was in Missouri for a concert, and sang to the 18-year-old from Holton, Kansas.
