In Custody: Child Abuse Suspect Behind Bars

Wanted no longer. 28-year-old Adam Duncan was taken into custody at 11:45 a.m., Tuesday morning after he was wanted in connection with a child abuse case. Joplin Police were called to a local hospital Thursday night for injuries that were inflicted to a 4-year-old. 26-year-old Haley K. Simpson was arrested at the hospital and now faces two counts of child abuse. A probable cause affidavit says Duncan, Simpson’s live-in boyfriend, struck the boy multiple times and left bruises on the right side of the child’s head. Duncan is on a 24-hour hold and police are submitting charges today.
