Block 22 in Pittsburg, Gets Even More Exciting
The Block22 Project in Pittsburg has been recognized as one of the top university-based projects in the country and now it’s getting even more exciting as 4 new business move into the newly renovated space. News Talk KZRG spoke to owner and CEO of Creative 124, Jacob Anselmi about what the Block22 project has done for the community.
Anselmi says, “… the fact that we have so many investors and stake holders that are wanting to renovate these buildings, bring them back to life, not just demolish them, and probably put in parking spots for me is a big deal because I love history. I love restoring history, and keeping it alive for next generation and the next generation.”
Anselmi says that Creative 124 is a Video production company that’s “all about telling stories,” and passing along knowledge and abilities to the Pitt State residents in Block22 is beneficial to both the students and the business owners, plus it helps the community and even the region. “The cool part about block22, in my mind is, you’re going to have industry professionals like myself and others that can intertwine, communicate and network with the students and vice versa. So if they have questions about what we do, how we do it, we’re right there. And so it’s a living learning kind of ecosystem.”
Still to come to the Block22 project is a maker space for students and the community as well as several restaurants and eateries.
Block22 is made up of four historic buildings that are being renovated and restored in the downtown area that has also provided more housing for Pitt State students.
